4th INTERNATIONAL ART COMPETITION
BATTLES AND COMBATS OF THE FIRST AGE
YIELD COMPETITION
First of all, we want to apologize for a delay of the announcement , but
it was very difficult to choose the best works.
The level of the works, which were sent to us, was very high. We have
received works from Poland, Czech Republic, Russia and the Republic of
South Africa. Techniques of the arts were various: from sketch through
graphics and pastels to oil paint on spatial art. The way of the
presentation was also diverse, from typical illustration to allegories.
We have to admit, that some of the artists weren't careful while sending
their works, and they have come to us creased or rubbed off (especially
pastel arts), so the Jury took not only aesthetics, but also overall
impression of those arts in their judgment. Few of works had incomplete
titles, or didn't touch the topic of the contest straightly. One art was not irrelevant at all. The Jury had to disqualify those works, or reduce
their mark.
We have the pleasure to announce, that:
1st. place and 250 Euro award goes to
Zbigniew Kusz ( Poland) for the
spatial art "Fight of Morgoth and Fingolfin"
1st. distinction and 100 Euro award goes to
Karina Chmiel-Gugulska -
( Poland ) for the work "Fight for the Songs of Might"
There was a hard discussion about the second distinction, so The Jury
divided 100 Euro award between:
50 Euro for
Danuta Sarna ( Poland ) for "The Orcks army before the
attack on Hithlum"
50 Euro for
Willems Elena ( Russia ) for "Fight of the two Songs"
A special distinction and 50 zlotych as a private prize from the sponsor
goes to
Elżbieta Delinowska ( Poland ) for "Greed of Morgoth - the
reason of Doriath`s fall"
Material awards go to:
Monika Richova - ( Czech Republic) for "Balrog's Might"
Mateusz Rasiński - ( Poland ) for "The Battle of the Countless
Tears"
Anna Kulisz - ( Poland ) for "Might Songs Duel"
Two works, one from Poland and one from Republic of South Africa, were
not accepted into the competition. Although they were very interesting
as far as art is concerned, the first one, "Saruman's Betrayal", was
not
irrelevant to the period of time mentioned in the regulations, and the
second one, entitled, in too general way, "Air Fight" was not
irrelevant
to the neither concrete characters nor situations described.
We congratulate all prize-winners, which are asked to contact with
organizers.
